National Cold Asphalt

1. PREPARATION
Clean the repair area of loose debris and dust. A tack coat is not necessary.
(This product can be applied in wet conditions)

2. APPLICATION
Lightly manipulate this pack before dispensing the contents into the repair area. Ensure that the “skin” (see 6 below) is properly mixed into fresh material.
Level out the product to the desired thickness, allowing about 50% of the depth for compaction.

3. COVERAGE RATES
1 x 25 kg bag will yield approximately 0.5m² at 30mm thickness. Pre-fill Material can be used for potholes deeper than 50mm, but ideally should be compacted in layers of not more than 50mm.
National Cold Asphalt “Wearing Course Material” should be used to “finish” the top 20 to 30mm of the repair. This final layer can be compacted together with the top layer of Pre-Fill Material, which creates a very good bond between base and surface.

4. COMPACTION
Depending on the size of the repair, a hand stamper, rammer, plate compactor or pedestrian roller can be used.

5. PRECAUTIONS
Avoid excessive contact with skin. If the skin becomes contaminated, clean by using any approved petroleum based abrasive hand gel cleaner or soap. Rinse with clean water. Any contact with eyes should be dealt with by irrigating with copious amounts of water.

6. STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE
National Cold Asphalt has a unique shelf life of up to two years in all weather conditions. The product will form a hard skin either in or out of the packaging, and this protects the main body of the product from degradation. The skin easily rejuvenates and becomes workable through a little agitation and re-mix.
